Gae Connally, M.S.Ed.
Lecturer Elementary Certificate Coordinator
Gae Connally is a lecturer and the elementary certificate coordinator in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction where she teaches undergraduate courses in elementary literacy education. She earned her B.S. in elementary education with specializations in reading and kindergarten and her M.S.Ed. in early childhood Eeducation, both from Baylor University.
She was previously a university liaison for a professional development school and an intern supervisor for the School of Education.
Mrs. Connally has extensive experience in literacy education. She taught in the public schools for 35 years, 34 of them as a reading specialist. Her other roles in the schools included English as a Second Language coordinator and instructor, Reading Recovery teacher, dyslexia specialist and assessor, staff development presenter and leader, and teacher coach and mentor.
She holds many certifications pertaining to literacy instruction and coaching including Legacy Master Reading Teacher, Daily 5, Latino Family Literacy Project, Reading Recovery, Herman Reading Program, Go Phonics, Johnny Can Spell, Language!, and Reading By Design.
Mrs. Connally has a passion for literacy and believes that all children have the right to become proficient readers. She strives to share her knowledge and experience with future educators so that they can impact the next generation of readers.
