EdD LOC Curriculum Overview
- 54 credit hour program
- 36 months to complete the program
- 2 immersions
Designed and led by award-winning faculty, courses are practitioner-oriented and will prepare students to become transformative leaders with expertise in curriculum, organizational change, and teaching and learning.
The program consists of:
- learning foundations courses
- organizational change courses
- research methods courses
- Problem of Practice (PoP) dissertation
Two in-person immersions (circumstances permitting) serve as dedicated opportunities for students to apply newly acquired skills learned in the virtual classroom to their vocation. During this valuable time on Baylor’s campus, students also will start to conceive and develop their industry-based PoP dissertation.
Admissions Overview
Baylor’s School of Education maintains the same admissions standards for the online programs as it does for the on-campus programs. Successful applicants possess backgrounds that demonstrate an ability to excel in a doctoral program and a strong desire to have a positive impact in their field.
The EdD online program starts three times per year — in January, May, and August. The admissions team accepts and reviews applications year-round on a rolling basis.
To be considered for the EdD online program, applicants must hold a master’s degree with a GPA that demonstrates strong academic success, which is typically 3.5 or higher.
